THE FORGOTTEN REALMS
Forgotten Realms Territories
Dalelands Region Map

"Welcome friends! Join us as we step into the Forgotten Realms, a world created by none other than the grandfather of the Realms himself — Ed Greenwood. Our default time period is going to basically be "the 1st and 2nd edition era―the best era". Faerûn is a gateway to adventure, wealth and fame. Within the Realms, the magical & otherworldly are always close at hand. Standing stones loom in glades hallowed by pagan cults of yesteryear. Doorways to the Underdark allow transit between worlds.

Yet the Realms are far from a safe or peaceful place. Beyond the walls of great cities and the well-traveled roads connecting distant kingdoms lies a vast and untamed wilderness where civilization quickly gives way to the unknown. Ancient ruins lie forgotten beneath tangled forests, crumbling keeps stand watch over roads that have not seen travelers in generations, and forgotten barrows conceal secrets best left undisturbed. Orcs, goblins, trolls and far worse creatures haunt the lonely places of the world, while beneath the earth forgotten kingdoms and sprawling underworlds stretch into darkness.

Join us as we journey into a world of high fantasy where dragons are abound and where heroes are made. From forgotten roads to ancient dungeons buried beneath the earth, every journey carries the promise of discovery—and every shadow may conceal the beginning of another adventure . . ."

« Old-School Essentials »

Old-School Essentials is a tabletop role-playing game that builds upon the core rules of the B/X Essentials, B/X and BECMI game systems. It incorporates elements and options from Advanced Dungeons & Dragons "1st Edition", such as additional classes, races, spells, and monsters, while maintaining the simpler, more streamlined rules of Basic/Expert "B/X" D&D.

Key features:
Old-School Essentials is a retroclone, meaning it's designed to emulate the feel and mechanics of older versions of Dungeons & Dragons.

• B/X Foundation: It retains the core mechanics and feel of the original B/X D&D, which was popular in the 1980s and is still widely played to this day.
• AD&D Integration: It includes optional rules, classes, races, and spells from AD&D 1st Edition, allowing players to experience a wider range of character options and game elements.
• Character Variety: Players can choose from a broader array of character classes and races, including options like drow, duergar, gnome, and half-elf, among many others.
• Expanded Content: It includes additional magical items, spells, and monsters, adding more depth and complexity to the game.
• Flexible Gameplay: The game offers optional rules for character creation, combat, and spell acquisition, allowing for a more tailored experience.
• Modern Layout: Necrotic Gnome uses a modern layout and clear presentation, making it very easy to learn and even reference during play.
• House Ruling: With it being completely compatible with other systems like Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, 1st edition, BECMI, BX and "to an extent" AD&D 2nd edition it is easy to include house rules, mechanics and outside rules from these systems.

"Dungeons & Dragons is such a huge part of my life, TTRPG's played a part in what I am today and it's something that I have never gotten tired of ... and probably never will.
